I had played with Lu’s camera a few times before. I took the first set of photographs that ended up as mandalas on a day on which, like any other, I left home and walked to work. I just happened to bring the camera with me. When walking alone, I usually make conscious use of my time and enter into a walking meditation, enjoying everything the day has to offer, be it sunlight, bird songs and the caressing of the wind; be it snow, rain, or falling leaves.
