cosmic sensorium: healing art

The Cosmic Sensorium and the Murphy Hill Gallery are reclaiming and expanding the sacred bond between fine arts and healing arts.

Our goal is to create a space for dialogue, collaboration and shared experience between artists, healers and people in our extended communities. Now you have yet even more reasons to make it out to our awesome opening parties every six weeks: We are inviting healers and intuitives who practice different modalities to each of our themed shows! The great art will of course continue to flow.

Next event is the Flower, Nature and Landscape show, opening on June 20, and we are inviting people that work with vegetable/plant/flower energies; including, but not limited to:

• Chinese herbs,
• Bach flower essences,
• Flower homeopathy,
  
• Herbal infusions,
  
• Vegan/Vegetarian cooking,
  
• Vegetarian/Vegan cosmetics and products,
  
• Aroma therapy,
  
• Gardening and sustainable agriculture,
  
• People that read/communicate with plants and nature spirits,
  
• And anything else along these lines or further beyond!

General Info

Location

• Our events are held at the Murphy Hill Gallery: 3333 W Arthington St. Chicago, Illinois 60624 (Map)
• A few blocks south of the Kedzie Blue Line stop, or just off of 290.
• The gallery occupies the 3rd floor of the historic Sears & Roebuck building – 40,000 square feet in total.
• Our elevators are in working order.
• We have a free, well lit parking lot available plus more free parking on the street.
  
• We also have security personnel at both the lot and the building.

Space, Tables, and Rooms

• Healers, intuitives, vendors and other exhibitors working in the main gallery can set up a small table and/or chairs – please bring your own. If you need a table and/or chairs, please let us know in advance as we have a few available on a first request, first served basis.
• Healers and intuitives requiring more space (for a massage table or something of the sort) can work in the East Wing. If you’d like to bring panels or arrange your space in any other way, please let us know and we can work something out.
  
• We also have four small rooms available for healers and intuitives whose work requires more privacy; plus a big room that can be arranged (with panels and curtains) into four spaces with moderate privacy.

Time

• Our events usually run on Saturdays from from 6:00pm to midnight. We will be there for set up beginning at 5:00pm and we ask that you arrive no later than 5:30pm to set up your space.
  
• We can also make arrangements if you want to come see the space or drop something off before hand.
• All healers and intuitives must make arrangements at least 2 DAYS before any given event, with me (Diógenes Lamarche - D [at] CosmicSensorium [dot] com) in order to offer your services.
  

Sign-in Sheets, Sessions and Consent (if applicable)

We will provide you with printed sheets so that event participants can sign in for your healing, readings, bodywork, and/or other services. The sign-in sheets contain the following consent/release wording:

• By signing up for the following services to be performed, I agree to the following:
• I understand that the procedures performed by the practitioners at Synchronicity 2009 are for the purposes of insight, spiritual exploration, relaxation, and/or stress reduction. They are given in the spirit of healing, support, love, empowerment, and growth.
  
• I understand that the therapy or reading provided is not a replacement for medical or mental health care, if needed.
  
• I hold free from liability the healer giving the healing session at this event, Murphy Hill Gallery, and all people associated with the planning, coordinating and volunteering to make this event possible.

Sustaining the cycle of abundance

• Healers, intuitives, vendors and exhibitors can charge for their services as they see fit. The gallery requires a fee of $40 for setting up a small table or massage chair, or $50 to $60 for using one of the rooms. This is for the length of the entire event.
  
• If you prefer not to deal with money in this way or cannot afford the fees, you can work on the basis of love offerings and tips -- do bring a bowl to receive donations! In this case, the gallery requests that you bring a contribution as well; such as food, beverage and/or helping out with cleaning and closing down. Wine is ok, but no beer or hard liquor. If going for this option, please let us know how you plan to contribute at least 2 days before the event.

Liability

• Please make sure that all people sign-in and consent BEFORE you work on/with them.
• It is OK for you to bring airborne substances (oils, incense, lotions, aroma therapy, etc) as long as you let us know so we can consider this when setting up and distributing the space. We reserve the right to request that you put away or stop using these substances.
  
• It is OK for you to bring candles so long as they are lit ONLY while they are under your complete, direct supervision.

If you wish to be included in our promotions, please provide us with your name, services, modality and website in a reasonable time frame before the event, and we can list your info on:

• Our Facebook Event page
• Additional sites, mailing lists and printed media (depending on the type of event)
• We appreciate that you promote our events in whichever way you see fit! Of course, spam is out of the question.

If Interested in Current and/or Future Events

• Your name, services and modality (exactly as you want it listed)
• Which space you'd like to work in (main room, east wing, one of the smaller rooms)
• Confirm that you are able to work within our schedule (5:30 to midnight)
• Your website so we can post online and list in our email promotions.
• If you would like to check out the space before hand, please contact me and we can make arrangements.
